One of the biggest days in the comic book calendar is almost upon us… Free Comic Book Day is SATURDAY, MAY 4! As you probably know, FCBD is a single day when comic book stores around the world give away specially designed comic books ABSOLUTELY FREE to anyone who comes into their shops.
This year marks the 22nd year (I think) of celebrating Free Comic Book Day – it’s always the first Saturday in May – and it has proven to be a smashing success, spreading the word that comics are terrific reading for people of all ages.

Be sure to pose for a photo with Spider-Man, Captain America, Wonder Woman, Static Shock, or one of the other cosplayers from Superhero Support Inc.! They are an all-volunteer nonprofit organization bringing smiles to the faces of children, families, and fans, and raising funds as superhero cause-players! They will be here from 10 AM – NOON!
LOCAL ARTIST MICHAEL SMITH!
Michael Smith is an independent comic book artist/cartoonist from Maryland, and a regular here at the store. He specializes in stippling and storytelling and is the co-founder of VASH Magazine. Mike will be doing FREE SKETCHES for the kids!
Mike will also be selling his FREE COMIC BOOK DAY 2024 PRINT! Made especially for this year’s celebration at Cosmic Comix and featuring Mike’s own art on top of the official FCBD logo.
