It’s true: Free Comic Book Day was a blast. No bout a doubt it. But we don’t stop. No way, no how. We’re coming back hard in this week’s Whiz Bang with one of our favorite targets: Hardcovers. This week’s Whiz Bang is all about the variants, baby! We recently came across more than 20 different Marvel comic books, which feature some of the most inspired, funniest, creative and often downright hilarious covers of the past few years, by some of the greatest artists in the business. And this week, we’re making ALL of the variants featured here — which will be spread out on the front table, Whiz Bang Style — JUST $3.00 EACH! This group of covers features your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man in various poses and with numerous of his friends and enemies. The featured cover at right is from the mammoth-sized Fantastic Four #700. Here, John Romita Jr. has Spidey charging ahead full speed with the Fantastic Four! I think I might get this one just to appreciate the sheer size of Mr. Fantastic’s right hand. He looks like he’s about to grab Spidey by the head!

The other covers find our man teaming up with the Astonishing X-Men and the Secret Avengers, not to mention having the misfortune of finding Venom in his birthday cake! What, they couldn’t find a dancing girl?

This week’s Whiz Bang is somewhat momentous. I mean, they’re ALL momentous, but this one’s even MORE momentous! That’s because we’re taking all of our back issue mini-series collections and putting them on sale for a whopping 70% OFF!

You see, we feel like the mini-series sets got a raw deal during the Year-End Whiz Bang this year. During that sale they were actually 75% off, but they’re kind of tucked away there on the floor near the back of the store and were easy to overlook. So we want to give them a second chance! But we can’t go as low as our Year-End pricing (75% off), because we do like those prices to be the lowest of the year. That said, we’re making them 70% OFF!
