Highlights for Wednesday, October 17: Marvel Comics

Hawkeye #3Leading off for the Marvel Comics camp this week is Hawkeye #3! Matt Fraction and David Aja have done a bang-up job on that one so far, particularly with the second issue, which we deemed to be the second best book of the month for September.

  • What is the Vagabond Code?
  • Barton and Bishop mean Double the Hawkeye…and Double the trouble.
  • Fraction and Aja are back with a chase that will blow not only your mind, but several your ancestors’ minds as well.

Also look for AVX: Consequences #2 (of 5), the second issue of the weekly mini-series that sees Cyclops in the slammer, paying for the crimes against the world he committed during Avengers vs. X-Men! And Wolverine is PISSED about it.

Daredevil #19 marks the second part of the story that kicked off last month introducing the killer called Coyote! The story also re-introduced Daredevil’s former girlfriend Milla… who may or may not be back in Matt’s life! The other possibility of course is that she’s still stuck in the asylum and that now Matt is going crazy.

Ultimate Iron Man #1Finally, the Ultimate Universe welcomes a new title this week in the form of Ultimate Iron Man #1 (of 4)! As you can see, this is gonna be a Mandarin story… which just might have something to do with next year’s release of Iron Man 3, which I understand also happens to center around a certain madman. At any rate, you might recognize the name of writer Nathan Edmondson from Image’s Who is Jake Ellis?, among other things. Check it out!

DEMON IN THE ARMOR. What dark motivation drives reckless Tony Stark to be one of Earth’s greatest heroes? Who or what is ULTIMATE MANDARIN?
