The Everything Else Highlights column basically writes itself this week! There are numerous of our favorite titles coming out, starting with Image Comics and Walking Dead #103! It’s a big week for our favorite zombie property, as the third season of the television show debuted this past Sunday and we honor the comic book that started it all with this week’s Whiz Bang!
Also from Image, you can’t deny Chew #29! You might have been disappointed that it was bumped from the #1 spot in last month’s Best Books of the Month chart, but I’m considering it a one-time blip. Chew! Now and forever!

- On the trail of the vampire!
Heading over to Vertigo, we see American Vampire: Lord of Nightmares #5 (of 5). These top three comics ALONE make a trip to the store this week worth your while! But as far as American Vampire goes, it’s the final chapter in one of the most epic mini-series we’ve seen, and it promises to change the American Vampire landscape forever!
Over at IDW, look for the final issue on The Cape 1969 #4 (of 4)! Still not totally sure how it’s gonna hook up with the first mini-series, but it almost doesn’t matter because it’s been a great story on its own terms.
Dark Horse brings BPRD 1948 #1 to the table! It’s a big one for you Mignola-verse fans, because it marks the beginning of the end of the secret origins trilogy!
Finally, also from Dark Horse, gotta give some love to Billy the Kid’s Old Timey Oddities and the Orm of Loch Ness #1 (of 4)! Goon creator Eric Powell brings back a fan-favorite series that I’ve always considered a slightly less pretentious (and also hilarious) League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
BILLY KIDS ODDITIES & ORM LOCH NESS #1 (OF 4)
Written by Eric Powell

The world believes the notorious outlaw Billy the Kid was killed by Pat Garrett, the Kid is very much alive, the hired gun of a traveling spectacle of biological curiosities—or “freaks,” as Billy calls them. Billy and crew head to Loch Ness to rescue their lizard-skinned comrade from Count Dracula.
