The theme for this week’s Best Covers column is VIOLENCE, readers. And lots of it. Football season is well underway and it’s just put me in a mood to hit things. That and the beginning of Walking Dead, which has put me in the mood to deliver some mean machetes to the head! Well… that and the never ending supply of wet leaves that clog up my gutter on a daily basis, which has put me in the mood to rake the HELL out of some yard waste! And did I mention the pet hair all over my house? Because that’s put me in the mood to do some SERIOUS VACUUMING. What can I say, my tendencies to violence really run the spectrum.

Nothing says violence like guns, so give Phil Noto some credit for the gunniest cover this week. Did I say gunniest just then? Because I meant FUNNIEST. I, too, would like to blast Wolverine, Iceman and Gambit from the barrel of a gun.

It’s just too bad this isn’t a revolver because then we could reenact our own version of Deer Hunter. With hi-LARIOUS results.
