When Gregg Hurwitz and Szymon Kudranski’s Penguin: Pain and Prejudice mini-series was coming out in single issues, we were totally knocked out by it. The darkness, the brutality, the painful and dark past of one of Batman’s most devious foes examined… this Penguin was NO JOKE. Which is exactly what made us like it so much, and we’ve been eagerly awaiting the trade paperback, which comes out this week!

This was a very good story when I picked it up issue-by-issue. The ending seemed a little rushed but when you only have 5 issues you can’t drag it out too much. The background of Penguin and his quest for happiness was a compelling story and I’d recommend it for the Bat-fan that wants to know the motivation behind his supervillians.
