Highlights for Wednesday, September 26: Marvel Comics
Looks like a huuuuuuge week for the House of Ideas this week! From the Avengers to Spider-Man to the X-Men family to the heroes and everything in between! We’ll start with X-Men #36, which Marvel is calling a jumping on point! We’cv enjoyed Brian Wood’s run on this title immensely and if this really is a good jumping on point, and you haven’t already, you should do so immediately!

- Jumping on point!
- In the aftermath of the "Mutant Scare", Storm’s leadership is called into question.
- Will there be a new team-member – and what side are they really on?
Other X-books this week include Wolverine #313, X-Treme X-Men #4, X-Men Legacy #274, Gambit #3, Deadpool #61 and the always good Wolverine and the X-Men #17, which sheds its Avengers vs. X-Men banner and stars the one and only Doop!
I’m also digging Amazing Spider-Man #694, which boasts an all-new character joining the Marvel Universe and also features a very cool cover that pays tribute to the classic Superman vs. Amazing Spider-Man of yesteryear.
There are also several spy/espionage books coming out this week, starting with Winter Soldier #11. It’s an all-out search for Black Widow… and Hawkeye is on the trail!
The other big spy book is Garth Ennis’ Fury Max #6. If you were a fan of Ennis’ run on Punisher — which we feel is some of the greatest Punisher ever written — you definitely need to be reading this series. It’s got that same gritty feel, and in fact Fury is written very Punisher-y. Which we are A-OK with!

Fury and his Castro-assassination team are captured in Cuba. Find out just how far Nick Fury will go for his country.
