Highlights for Wednesday, September 26: DC Comics

Batman Inc #0It’s the last week of DC Comics’ Zero Month! And I don’t want to say that they’ve saved the best for last, because Batman and Robin #0 was really good, but there are definitely some great ones this week. Starting with Grant Morrison and Chris Burnham’s Batman Incorporated #0!

BATMAN INCORPORATED #0

  • Batman, Incorporated wants you!
  • Batman has a war to fight, but first he must recruit an army to combat the menace of Leviathan.
  • See how The Dark Knight assembled his lieutenants!

Also from the Batman family, be sure to check out Batman The Dark Knight #0. We’ve really been enjoying this title lately (the Scarecrow storyline has been phenomenal) so we’re curious to see where Gregg Hurwitz and David Finch take this one!

And we gotta give a shout to Before Watchmen: Ozymandias #3 (of 6). The first two issues were both among the Best Books of the Month for their respective months! I’ll just say this: don’t be thrown off by the Comedian on the cover: that’s Ozymandias’ book!

Rose & Thorn #1Of course any time I Vampire comes out it’s gotta get a mention… so here you go! I Vampire #0 hits the shelves this week. Maybe we’ll learn just how Andrew Bennett got that charming white streak in his hair.

Finally, we’re all set for the third in DC’s National Comics series. These one-and-done stories explore some of The New 52′s characters that, while cool, don’t currently have an outlet for their tales. This week: Rose and Thorn #1! Love that cover.

ROSE AND THORN #1

The classic DC character Rose and Thorn is taken in a compelling new direction! Can a teenage girl with a dark secret, readjusting to life after being institutionalized, learn how to live again?
