DC Comics’ Zero Month

Zero MonthThe big news for DC Comics this week is the beginning of what they’re calling ZERO MONTH! You’ve seen the ads in just about every DC book for the past several months, and we are finally here! And it’s pretty simple: all through the month of September, DC titles will feature issue #0′s. We’ve seen these before, from DC and other companies alike… but what does it mean this time?

Zero Month ChecklistFor starters, Zero Month is timed to the one-year anniversary of the launch of the New 52 initiative. And, according to DC, the #0′s will be stand-alone stories. “Some issues will tell the origins of a character or a team, or in some case where an origin has already been told, they will fill in the blanks in terms of questions readers may have about the New 52 DC Universe,” said Bob Harras, DC Entertainment Editor-in-Chief. “Each of these issues promises to reveal something surprising.”

So, while the Zero issues won’t be continuing any major plotlines or anything, they do sound intriguing enough to check out. Click on the checklist at left to see it all!

We’ll be getting several of them this week, and one of the biggest is surely Action Comics #0!

Action Comics #0

ACTION COMICS #0

Written by Grant Morrison, Sholly Fisch
Art by Ben Oliver, Cafu

Don’t miss "The Boy Who Stole Superman’s Cape." Grant Morrison weaves the history of Clark Kent’s early days in Metropolis!

Other big Zero issues this week include Detective Comics #0, Green Lantern #0, Earth 2 #0, Swamp Thing #0 and many more! And I have to say I’m digging the "Bustin’ Out" theme that seems to be running through all the covers of the #0 issues.
