Highlights for Wednesday, August 22: Marvel Comics

Uncanny X-Men #17The story at Marvel Comics this week seems to be X-Men and Spider-Man all the way. Now, I can’t talk about Spidey just yet, because I’ve got something special lined up for a little later today, but I will most certainly talk some X-men action! We’ll lead off with the only AVX tie-in of the week, Uncanny X-Men #17, which marks the conclusion of the Sinister story arc, which I have to say I’ve enjoyed immensely!

  • AVX TIE-IN!
  • The climactic end to the X-Men’s greatest stand against Sinister!
  • The culmination of everything Sinister has planned since Uncanny #1!

Also look for a double-shot of Wolverine in Wolverine #312 and Wolverine Annual #1. The latter finishes up a three-part Alan Davis crossover story while the former continues Jeph Loeb’s Sabretooth story!

Peeking away from the X-family for a moment, be sure to check out Ultimate Comics Ultimates #14. It continues the Divided We Fall event! Someone is working behind the scenes to divide the country, but who?! WE MUST KNOW.

Deadpool Kills the Marvel UniverseAnd from the heroes, you don’t want to miss Invincible Iron Man #523, Punisher #14 or Secret Avengers #30!

But going back to the X-family, we’ll finish up with one of the hottest series in the Marvel lineup right now: Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe! And in case you missed the first few and have been waiting, be advised that we do have more on the way!

DEADPOOL KILLS MARVEL UNIVERSE #4 (of 4)

What if everthing you thought was funny about Deadpool…was actually just disturbing? What if he decided to kill everyone and everything that makes up the Marvel Universe? What if he actually pulled it off? Would that be FUN for you? The Merc with a Mouth takes a turn for the twisted in a weekly horror comic like no other…
