Moving on to the one and only House of Ideas! And hopefully we’ve got something here for even the most discerning of taste (I’m looking at YOU, Andy King! Ha.) Of course, the big Marvel book of the week is Avengers vs. X-Men #10! In the last issue, we saw Spidey basically talk Colossus and Magik into knocking each other out, thereby leaving Cyclops and Emma Frost to share the power of the Phoenix! Exciting stuff.

Time is running out as the Avengers are cornered in their last stronghold! But the stakes change when Hope and the Scarlet Witch join forces! Why?! How?!
Also coming in this week under the AVX banner is Avengers #29. They’re calling this one a flip book for Wolverine and the X-Men #12, which does put it a couple months behind in terms of continuity I suppose, but intriguing nevertheless!
Not really related to AVX at all, but completely excellent in its own way, has been Brian Wood’s run on X-Men! And this week sees X-Men #34. I’d actually thought, based on issue #33, that the proto-mutants story was about done. But I guess not! Which is totally fine because it’s been great and I’m curious to read more about these old school, Black Plague-era muties. (And we still have plenty of each of the previous issues in stock!)
Finally, gotta give a shout to Daredevil #17. I feel like we’ve been sounding our barbaric yawp about this series for a while now, but it’s totally earned. The last issue — featuring Giant Man on a trek through Daredevil’s brain — was one of the best comics I’ve read in a while. Plus, Foggy gave Matt the boot! Can’t wait to see what happens next.

- The return of someone Matt thought was gone forever!
- The debut of a new menace in New York – the killer called Coyote!
- And just how sane IS Matt Murdock?
