Ahh, it’s great to be back. Vacation was nice and all, but it feels good to be back to my column. Many thanks to Josh and Rusty for filling in. And I don’t think my happiness is a one-way street either; I think the column is happy to have ME back as well! I can just make out a sweet song emanating from the website as I type. And the words of Patsy Cline: "I’m back in baby’s arms."

GREAT cover. Lizard is giving Spidey the evil eye! But I have to be honest, all I can think of when I look at this cover is Sauron from Lord of the Rings saying, "I seeeeee youuuuuu."
But, while Sauron’s eye is, to quote Christopher Lee’s Saruman and some excellently rolled R’s, "lidless, wrrrrreathed in flame," Lizard’s eye appears to be lidless and wrrrrreathed in rrrrreptile skin.

Okay, so apparently I am on a Lord of the Rings kick, because I’ve got a LOTR joke for this cover, too! It must be all the hype surrounding the Hobbit movie(s), which I have to admit has gotten me more excited than a young dentist opening a new practice in Hershey, PA.
Anyway, here’s the joke: I wonder if she had to wait for moonlight in order to see that door?? AMIRIGHT, folks?! Though of course she would have had to speak the Elvish word for friend in order to get it to open.

My GOODNESS! Though it’s not a punch to the face, it’s easily the most excellent STICK to the face I’ve seen in some time! Making it even better, of course, is a perfect use of onomatopoeia. "Sooooo-WACK!"
And yes, in case you’re wondering, my longstanding moratorium on Deadpool covers, a rule that I broke more often than I abided by it, is now kaput. I’ll include Deadpool in every column if I want to! And you can’t do a thing about it!

We’ll finish up today’s column with a vicious punch to the I-have-no-idea-what-but-whatever-it-is-I-wouldn’t-want-to-be-that-guy!
I recommend blowing up all of the covers just to get a better look, but this one is a must-click. Why? Because you might not have noticed the HUMAN EAR that is flying off of the punchee! Supreme is punching someone so hard that his/her ear comes loose and goes airborne!
As for Suprema… girl, your arms are freaking me out.
