Before Watchmen: Rorschach #1

Possibly the most anticipated of the Watchmen prequels, Rorschach #1 comes out this week! It’s being written by Brian Azzarello (100 Bullets) and features art by the excellent Lee Bermejo (The Joker). Whether you’re on board with the whole Before Wartchmen thing or not, your curiosity MUST be piqued to see what those two have in mind for this character, one of the greatest characters of all time if you ask me. As it turns out, the only reason Azzarello and Bermejo got on board was so that no one else would screw it up! From a recent interview:

"But now that you mention it, Lee and I were discussing it — whether or not we were going to take on Rorschach — and the discussion went along the lines of, ‘You know they’re going to do it anyway, whether you say yes or no.’

"And then it went to, ‘Well, then we’d better do it, because at least if we do it, we know it’s going to be good.’"

And all the other writers at DC gave a collective, "Haaaaa-RUMPH!"
