Leading off for Marvel, we’re gonna go with a little Millarworld action and Hit-Girl #2! Mark Millar and John Romita Jr. continue the spin-off of their smash series Kick-Ass. This story takes place just after the first volume of Kick-Ass. The first issue was pretty tame by Millar standards, so we’re hoping to see Hit-Girl do some slicing and a little dicing this time around!

Crashing through plate glass unscathed? Child’s play. Jumping over moving cars? Whatevs. When Hit-Girl is your mentor, you’d better keep up. Kick-Ass is taking lessons in Advanced Bad Assery from Mindy McCready, and in return, he’s teaching her to survive middle school. The question is, can she dispatch the Mean Girls without severing any arteries? Meanwhile, Red Mist gets serious about making his mark in the world of super crime.
Ed Brubaker’s incredible story of action and espionage continues in Winter Soldier #8! It’s pretty incredible to think that so much happens, plot-wise and detail-wise, in that book while at the same tome so many butts are being kicked!
And, somewhat related, is Captain America #15! Still reeling from Hydra’s Madbombs, Cap finds himself the target of a vicious media smear campaign. Who are the Discordians and what will they blow up next?! More excitement from the mind of Mr. Brubaker.
Finally, it’s a solid week of X-books as we’re set to get X-Men Legacy #270, X-Treme X-Men #1 (more soon on that), Uncanny X-Force #28, Deadpool #58 (which once again features a great cover) and Wolverine and the X-Men #14! Which features one of X-dom’s most prominent couples rekindling a flame!
