 Two in a row for Image Comics! This time, we’ve got a brand new series from Joshua Luna, who you might recognize as one half of the Luna Brothers, creators of The Sword and Girls. We liked those series very much and we eagerly await this one, called Whispers. From what we’ve read, Whispers has a strong supernatural feel to it, while at the same time exploring some of the more profound questions of our existence, like how much of what we do on a daily basis are we truly in control of.

 A couple weeks ago we wrote about how much we’ve been enjoying a series from Image Comics called The Strange Talent of Luther Strode. As we said then, "It’s funny, it’s violent, it’s over the top, and we love it." (You should also check out the video trailer for the comic in that post.) We still have a few copies of issues #1, 2 and 3 in stock so if you haven’t had a chance to check it out yet, do so! The fourth issue comes out this Wednesday and we’re definitely looking forward to it.

THE UNWRITTEN is a series by Mike Carey and Peter Gross from DC Comics’ Vertigo imprint. It’s about Tom Taylor, a character that served as an inspiration for a line of successful fantasy novels featuring a boy wizard named Tommy Taylor. Tom’s father wrote these novels, which have turned Tom into a Z-list celebrity. After his father’s disappearance and claims of him not being the "real" Tom Taylor make it into the media, Tom sets out on a strange and mysterious journey where the lines of fantasy and reality blur. Volume 5 comes out on Wednesday!

Written by Robert Kirkman, INVINCIBLE is one of our absolute favorite superhero stories. Mark Grayson is just like most everyone else his age. He’s a senior at a normal American high school. He has a crappy part time job after school and on weekends. He likes girls quite a bit, but doesn’t understand them. He enjoys hanging out with his friends, and sleeping late on Saturdays… at least until the good cartoons come on. The only difference between Mark and everyone else is that his father is the most powerful superhero on the planet, and as of late he seems to be inheriting his father’s powers. Which sounds okay at first, but how do you follow in your father’s footsteps when you know you will never live up to his standards? The newest volume comes out on Wednesday!

 Yep, we’ve got just one more week of 50¢ comics for you! More on that in a minute… First, a few notes about the Whiz Bangs we’ve got lined up for you in 2012!
As you know, the Whiz Bang is our weekly special here at Cosmic Comix, in which we offer up comics, action figures, trade paperbacks or any number of other goodies at bargain prices. It’s something different every week and we post the new Whiz Bang each Monday!
