Welcome to 2012, readers! It’s a fresh start for all of us! And by "fresh start" I mean "pretty much business as usual, just with a few half-baked ideas for improvement and maybe a yoga class this year." But anyway, speaking of fresh starts, we here at the Best Covers Desk received a memo from upstairs this morning. Something about "You keep picking the same covers" something, something. I don’t know, I started skimming after a few lines. As we say in the world of text messaging, TLDR*! But the gist of it seemed to be that I’ve gotten a little predictable. To that I say, Ha-RUMPH! Double harumph! Stale? Predictable? No sir, no way!
Well… on second thought it might be true, readers. But what can I say? I like what I like. And what I like is Animal Man! Ha.
ANIMAL MAN #5
Cover by Travel Foreman
I mean, really. How could I NOT pick this cover? Buddy Baker’s own daughter is eating his face off! He’ll just have to harness the power of a lizard or something in order to grow it back, I guess. (What animals have the power to grow their faces back?)
Plus, this issue also features one of those handy-dandy cover taglines that I talked about last week. "Death is my darling daughter!" Your daughter also has the appetite of Hannibal Lechter and a backpack that makes her look like a turtle.
* Too long, didn’t read.
