Cosmic Madness 2011 Championship: JLA vs. Avengers!

Okay, so you may have seen this coming at the outset: JLA vs. Avengers for the COSMIC MADNESS 2011 CHAMPIONSHIP and the bragging rights as the BEST SUPERHERO TEAM OF ALL-TIME!

Both teams have handled their competition ably and both definitely deserve their spots in this game. In fact, it would have been something of a travesty if it HADN’T come down to these two teams!

The Championship Game ends Tuesday, April 5, at Noon, and only ONE will reap benefits for you!

Now, you might be wondering: What exactly does that mean?? The answer is this: a MASSIVE SALE! Whichever team wins, everything in the store that has to do with that team will be 40% off for an entire week. So if the JLA wins, anything you can find with a member of the JLA in it or on it is 40% off! Trade paperbacks, comics, action figures, whatever! So choose wisely!

Justice League

JLA Ross

You do not get a more definitive a super team than the Justice League of America. This team boasts a roster of some of the most classic superheroes in comic book history. Grant Morrison wrote the team as allegorically representing a pantheon of gods. If you found yourself taking on muderous white martians, Darkseid, the Injustice Gang, facing an Identity Crisis, or jumping from one crisis in the multiverse to another, there may not be another team in all of comics that you want getting your back.

The most iconic version of the JLA always featured Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, the Flash, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Green Arrow, Hawkman, Captain Marvel, the Atom, and Martian Manhunter. There were also a vast array of other characters rotating in and out of the roster as well, like Plastic Man, Oracle, Black Canary, and more.

Why They Should Win: They are the most recognizable superhero team on the planet! Every big gun from the DC Universe is represented when the team is at its strongest and it just doesn’t get any more classic than the JLA!!

Avengers

Avengers
There is absolutely no battle cry for superhero teams more famous than "Avengers Assemble!" Comprised of the biggest and best superheroes in the Marvel Universe the Avengers have stood against Kang, M.O.D.O.K., Loki, and any other would-be world conquerer that rears their ugly face.

The team is always at its strongest when Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor are in their ranks. In recent years Ms. Marvel, Spider-Woman, Hawkeye, and Luke Cage have also proven to be just as capable. Even with the rotating roster the Avengers have always been the example in the Marvel Universe all other heroes have to live up to.

Why They Should Win: All of the superhero heavy hitters from the Marvel Universe on one team? You would have to be crazy to go up against them. In addition to fighting villains around the globe you also have heroes not afraid to stand against one of their own when they step out of line (see: the Scarlet Witch and the Sentry). And do not forget that all of the big Marvel stories of the last handful of years have been centered around the Avengers and stories about them. That makes them the team to beat!

What’s with this bias of putting JLA first?! I almost wasted my vote on them, since the Avengers should have been listed on top. Tricky. Tricky. :)

  2. Ben says:

Lets go Avengers! I got all my JLA trades last year when Batman won.

  3. Laura says:

    Justice League of America

  4. Andy K says:

This is by far better than that horrible UConn/Bulter NCAA Championship. A great contest! May the better team of heavy hitters win!

  5. Andy K says:

Sorry it should be Butler, but in all really who cares how their name is spelled they stuck up the national championship last night. They played like a rookie team of rec-league players last night. Poor execution on Butler’s part. Great defense from UConn and the ability to score/defend in the paint were the keys.
