Chew #18

Chew 18As much as I would like to pick FEAR ITSELF #1 today, I did like it a lot, and it deserves it’s share of votes in the poll this week, in all good conscious I cannot.

Chuga Chuga Chuga Chuga Choo Choo!! All aboard the Chew train!

CHEW #18. Just fantastic once again. Not only was it the best book of the week, it also had the moment of the week! When Poyo popped out of the box…well it was just great. My favorite rooster strikes again!

And we just might have a new overall leader in the Top Twenty. See what the next issue of Walking Dead brings and how the half-face Carl is doing. See what the next issue of Scalped brings although it’s in a plot building arc right now and I can only expect another quality layer to be added to the overall story. And we will definitely see what GI Joe #0 has to offer this Wednesday but zero issues tend to be tough and I wont hold it against them if its just setup.

It may only be the first week of the month but you better bring the heat if you want to beat Chew this month!

And I’m still very curious as to what the pink ribbon in the sky is all about.

See ya!

Best Book of the Week Poll – April 8

Oh no! No more Cosmic Madness! I hope you guys don’t go into voting withdrawal. To keep you from doing so, I offer you the Best Book of the Week Poll! Get your voting fix right here!

But first, last week’s big winner: Deadpool Team-Up #883! It was hilarious, a fitting ending to the series, and a deserving winner. That’s the Power of the Tweet, baby!

As for this week, Rusty’s list of nominees was a little shorter than usual, but that’s because around here our motto is ALL KILLER, NO FILLER. That said, his nominees included Amazing Spider-Man Annual #38, written by Chew’s John Layman; Annihilators #2, featuring Groot; Chew #18, featuring Poyo; and Fear Itself #1, the big and bad debut issue for Marvel’s event of the year. And for your voting pleasure, I also threw on Uncanny X-Men #534.1, the somewhat controversial Brightest Day #23 and what-the-heck Heroes for Hire #5, among others. Now vote!

What was the best book of the week?
